16 Jul - Villa da Vinci, Ballajura

I had the above pesto penne and iced coffee with some shared chips and wedges as an entree.

The chips and wedges did not disappoint. Screaming hot out of the fryer, they were crisp and well seasoned.

The ice coffee was OK although hard to mix from the hipster container.

The pasta was nice although the bottom was swimming in the pesto cream sauce so ended up with a sickly feeling by the end.

Even with the smaller shared entree, my guts were full. The servings definitely were large.

2 Jul - Miss Kitty's Saloon, Inglewood

Dinner last night was a birthday celebration at Miss Kitty's Saloon in Inglewood. This was a American/Canadian tapas style place. CB and I shared a few dishes.

We tried the poutine, chilli wings, snapper tacos, deep fried brussel sprouts, mac & cheese and the banoffee waffle for dessert.

The poutine was good (chips, gravy and cheese... what could go wrong?), the chilli wings built up, the snapper tacos were OK. The fried brussel sprouts with curry mayo was nice but the mac & cheese (too much bechamel, not enough cheese) and banoffee waffle weren't anything to rave about.
