18 Oct - Bravos, Vic Park

My birthday dinner this year was at Bravos.

For starters I grabbed the chips with aioli. They were decently seasoned and the garlic wasn't too overpowering.

For main I had the confit pork belly. The pork was soft but maybe a little dry, the apple and fennel worked well. I had food envy though looking at the pasta and pizzas though.

Service was attentive although too quick. Our mains came before I finished my chips, so it felt a bit rushed.

Colonel's Finest

11 of the Colonel's herbs and spices, spring onion, fried shallot and a dash of dark soy.

11 Oct - Fillaudeau's Café Restaurant, Caversham

At $45, this Fruit De Mer board was overpriced. Sure it was seafood but the quantities involved left a little too be desired.

4 Oct - Nandos, Malaga

Peri Peri tastes even better when free. I gave CB my free birthday meal and ordered a half chicken meal for myself using loyalty points.

I was teary, lips burning and nose running after eating but was worth it.

20 Sep - Jamie's Italian

After waiting around a year before our relatively big booking arrived, we finally got to try out the hype that is Jamie's Italian. Was it all that it cracked up to be?

The place is really noisy. Like hard to hold a normal level conversation noisy. Service was mixed. The chap who took orders was attentive but the servers lost their passion for the job ages ago.

The food? Good. The burger, posh chips and trifle were tasty although pricy, the mushroom starter I had was tasty but soggy.

All in all a decent feed but I wouldn't wait off the street for it.
