My cousin's wedding. Mushroom risotto with confit duck, beef fillet with rosti and a chocolate mousse cigar.

It was nice enough but I thought I was gonna have to stop for a top up on the way home but i ended up with more steak from Atlas.

27 Aug - Jamie's Kitchen, Perth

For Julie's birthday, I had the lamp pipe, which was slow cooked Lamb shoulder in a tomato sauce. The dish itself was ok but there wasn't enough of it without having a starter.

21 Aug - Cafe Elixir, Wanneroo

A belated brunch for CB's birthday with her family. I went for the 'Not So Hungry' which was a cut down version of their big breakfast. It wasn't bad, the poached egg had a runny centre and everything was relatively tasty.

5 Aug - San Churro, Hillarys

Churros for two and a classic Spanish hot chocolate. The churros were extra tasty as they were free for CBs birthday. The classic Spanish was rich and was a bit sickly towards the end. Next time I need to drink coffee instead.

5 Aug - Ae Sushi, Hillarys

Mmm karaage bento set. With a generous serve of chilli mayonnaise.

31 Jul - Mister Walker, South Perth

CB's birthday last night was at Mister Walker in South Perth. I had the fish tacos, chicken caesar salad and a mini pavlova for dessert.

The fish tacos were good although I wasn't expecting to make them myself. I guess it was to keep fish crisp which it was. The guacamole was nice, jalapenos gave some heat and the slaw provided some crunch.

The caesar salad was decent with well seasoned chicken, bacon and anchovies. There were too few croutons though.

The pav looked impressive though the meringue was rock hard on the outside. It was hard to crack into and eat as it was rock hard.

16 Jul - Villa da Vinci, Ballajura

I had the above pesto penne and iced coffee with some shared chips and wedges as an entree.

The chips and wedges did not disappoint. Screaming hot out of the fryer, they were crisp and well seasoned.

The ice coffee was OK although hard to mix from the hipster container.

The pasta was nice although the bottom was swimming in the pesto cream sauce so ended up with a sickly feeling by the end.

Even with the smaller shared entree, my guts were full. The servings definitely were large.
