25 June - 2 Fat Indians
Apologies for the photos .. I was testing out my new camera phone in dim conditions and even on night mode, it's not that good. The photos turned out much alike the food and service here...
We were crammed in like sardines, the place was packed full of people and it was hard to talk, and the service wasn't that spectacular ... finished plates and glasses remained on the table even when other staff came to top up our water. We eventually had to dump our used plates onto another empty reserved table to make room.
As for the food? For starters, I ordered a Calamari Chilli Milli, described as "Calamari deep fried and tossed with vegetables and Indian spices". The squid was overdone and tough, and vegetables meant half cooked onion and capsicum.
For a main, I ordered Tandoori Sholay, described as "A combination of prawn, fish and chicken, cooked with onion, capsicum and kadahi masala gravy. Accompanied with naan / rice"... more onions and capsicum! The prawn was also overdone and tough, and I never got naan / rice. I was so disappointed with my main that I didn't even bother finishing it (a first for me).
I ordered a mango lassi but was also disappointed. It wasn't very cold, and seemed to have used canned mango instead of fresh (can definitely tell the difference).
Overall, I don't think I'd go back to this place. It was too noisy, too cramped and the food was too ordinary.
16 June - Morley Kebab place near HJs
For lunch, we stopped by the kebab place before going food shopping. I had a chicken kebab (I now go for chicken kebabs as they resemble meat more than the doner ones). It was relatively cheap, but definitely not the best kebab I've had (the top one has to go to Sydney, near Central Station .. 2 I've had near there from different places were sooooo good!).
16 June - Cafe Galleria
Saturday morning, we were bright and early as CB dropped her car in for a service. We decided to have breakfast at Cafe Galleria. I was a bit disappointed with the food, well, the price in particular. My bacon and egg sandwich was good, but cost $8.50, I should've gone for the breakfast special which would've gotten me more food. The Ice Coffee was like watered down Coffee Chill with a bit of icecream .. not that good...
15 June - Nandos in the City
On Friday, CB and I were in the city as we went to the Melbourne Comedy Festival Roadshow. We decided to have dinner at Nandos. Out came the Ent Book vouchers and ordered the usual Hot 1/4 chicken with 1/4 chicken free.
The food was typical Nandos however, I did not receive salad on either plate of 1/4 chicken. My fries were included on the plate which was OK but was a bit bummed about the salad.

3 June - Edoshiki
Edoshiki is a Japanese/Chinese Dim Sum place in Forrest Chase in Perth. We were dicussing that there were no real competitors to Jaws in WA, and later that day, we came across Edoshiki...
To be honest, whilst the idea seems really good of having the choice of Dim Sum and Japanese cuisine at one place, the reality is that the food is not the best of either cuisine. For Japanese, I'd much rather go to Jaws, and for Dim Sum, I'd rather go to Welcome Inn. Whilst Edoshiki is fairly cheap and has the best of both worlds, I don't think I'd go back.

27 May - Welcome Inn Tea House
Last Sunday, we went to Welcome Inn Tea House in Northbridge to celebrate Gazza's birthday. Sorry, no pics as most of the food was shared. I ate lots of squid, dumplings of all sorts and chicken feet (yum!). It was all topped off with sago (although no rockmelon .. jipped!). The share came to $13 each .. a decent feed for a cheap price! Score!
