23 Jan - Good Fortune Restaurant, Northbridge

Before the Eminence show at the Waicon festival last night, CB and I stopped off at Good Fortune for dinner. We ordered a large roast combination plate (which had char siu, roast pork and roast duck), steamed rice and oyster sauce bok choy. CB took all her duck before I took the photo.

The char siu was sweet as usual, although there weren't any tasty burnt bits this time round. The roast pork was quite salty, but the cracking was really really good. Both were tasty when combined with chilli oil.

The bok choy didn't seem to have a lot of oyster sauce and were a little bland. But they still cut through the fattiness of the meat.

The Eminence show, was superb! Going to order some of their CDs soon...

22 Jan - Zapatas, Northbridge

On Friday night, dinner was with CB and her work friends out at Zapatas in Northbridge. This was a Mexican joint along James Street.

I opted for the Chicken Fajitas, and received a plate of sizzling chicken, onion and capsicsum, along with lettuce, sour cream, tomato and cheese. Jalapenos were an extra. Each serving gets 3 tortillas.

I ended up eating all 3 tortillas and having approximately half of my fillings left. The other guys were the same, so more tortillas were ordered. By the time they came however, the chicken was cold and a little chewy. Overall, not bad, although the jalapenos weren't hot at all.

08 Jan - Subway, Beechboro

This practically fell apart as I unwrapped it. I had a Subway Club, on multigrain. All salads of course, with honey mustard and pepper. I'm not a big fan of honey mustard, but it's the low fat option (compared to mayo)...

07 Jan - Nandos, Malaga

Before heading to the Ensiferum/Cynic/Edguy gig at Capitol Theatre last night, CB and I grabbed dinner at the local Nandos. I went for a Portuguese BBQ burger, which wasn't bad, but needed more mayo/sauce, and a chicken thigh instead of breast (breast is too dry).

The lady at the counter failed as she assumed I wanted chips. I actually wanted peri peri chips. A bit of Nandos extra hot sauce fixed that, along with the burgers shortcomings.
