18 Sep - Fast Eddy's Cafe, Midland

I had my car windows tinted on Saturday, and so the car was in by 8AM. CB and I were hungry, so we had breakfast at Fast Eddy's. She saw pancakes on the menu and went for those, whilst I prefer a savoury breakfast and went for the king of them all, the Glutton Special.

It consisted of steak, chipolatas, bacon, eggs, tomato and toast, and comes with a small OJ, but I upgraded to a larger glass. Everything was good, the steak was well done, so was a little tough. Having steak in the morning was just weird.

12 Sep - Flavours of Chittering, Lower Chittering

CB and I went to the 'Flavours of Chittering' festival, where there were local businesses touting their wares. We tried an assortment of olive oils, sauces and fruits.

I had a 'Texan Chilli' hot dog, topped with tomato sauce. The bun was deliciously soft and chewy, but the sausage wasn't anything special. This hotdog needed onions and mustard though haha. At $5, it was a bit expensive too.

Feeling a little thirsty, I tried the local lemon squash. This was alot like the lime juice you can get in Singapore.

CB and I shared some macaroons. Out of raspberry, lemon and chocolate, the lemon one was the best.

4 Sep - Tan Hiep Hung Vietnamese Takeaway, Girrawheen

Last week, CB and I grabbed some lunch out and headed off to the local Vietnamese Bahn Mi Thit. I had a pork roll and shared a sardine roll with CB. We got chopped chilli in all sandwiches but it still wasn't very hot. But the meat was tasty as always.

Schweinshaxe Round 2

Woolies had a special on pork hocks awhile ago, so I stocked up on some. I gave one to mum to try with her boiled pork recipe, and it turned out quite well, with all the skin and fattiness that pork hocks have.

After the last Schweinshaxe trial, I was left unsatisfied due to the crackling. This time around, I tried roasting these hocks on my rotisserie, and the result was much better. The meat and crackling was good, but after having one, I was feeling wrong. I kept the other for dinner a few days later.

The good thing about rotisserie cooking is that you can cook vegies in the drippings. This time, it was sweet and normal potatoes. Even CB had some without any ill effect!

27 Aug - Nandos, Spearwood

Last Friday was supposed to be a free work BBQ lunch, but after looking at what was on offer, 3 of us decided to grab some junk food instead. With a promotion just about to end, we chose Nandos.

I opted for a quarter chicken meal, and with the promotion, received a free quarter chicken. Mmmm... BBQ chicken goodness.
