27 May - Yahava Koffeeworks, Caversham

Another visit to use some Ent book vouchers and an excuse to go out whilst Ah-Gary was still in Perth. I had a flat white and shared some carrot cupcake with CB. The cake was OK, it was a little dry. The icing could've helped it but it was also a little dry.

27 May - Grill'd, Mount Lawley

CB bought lunch, using a last minute Ent book voucher. I had the Wild West burger whilst sharing some chips with CB. The burger and shared chips were enough haha, I was quite full after eating the burger, which was good as always, not greasy at all.

26 May - Dragon Palace, Northbridge

Ah-Gary came back for his birthday this year and we headed to Dragon Palace for some steamboat chow. The selections were a little limited compared to other offerings overseas, but it still was a decent spread, especially with scallops! In order to make my moneys worth, I must've smashed over 20 scallops, along with other bits and pieces, and a bit of dessert. I forgot to take a picture of normal sago, which I had a few bowls of.

19 May - Lamonts Wine Store, Cottesloe

CB and I went out last night to celebrate our anniversary, and decided to try out Lamonts out in Cottesloe. Being a wine store (and not a restaurant, according to their menu), the food choices were a little small, so we decided to try out the tapas options to try out a few things.
I felt like a cider, but unfortunately they didn't have any. So, not being a wine person, went for a beer. I chose the Asahi.

Blue Swimmer crab, crushed pea, lemon Colonna. The peas and crab were sweet, and the lemon gave everything a fresh zing. I felt that it needed seasoning, and the tables didn't have salt and pepper.

Duck and cognac parfait, onion jam. This duck liver parfait was rich and delish spread over some bits of toasted bread, although by the end of it, I was getting the sickly fatty feeling.

Shark Bay whiting, tempura, with lemon. Lightly battered whiting fillets, topped with pickled cabbage. These were nice although a little greasy.

House smoked Ocean Trout, horseradish cream, toasted sourdough. It wasn't very smokey to me and I thought it would be spreadable like the pate. However it was more like flakes of trout.

Handcut Royal Blue chips, rosemary salt. Nothing much to describe here, the chips were quite good, although expensive.

Apple tart, Crème Anglaise. More custard would've been good here but the apple tart was good, although a little small compared to the fig and meringue disks.

Figs and Meringue disks, served with cream. Crunchy meringue served with figs and cream. A little too much cream and the plate ended up like an eaton mess afterwards, but it was thoroughly enjoyed.

When the dishes started to come out, I was thinking that I would've had to touch up a burger afterwards. But after finishing, I didn't feel the need to eat anything extra.

17 May - Rustico Tapas & Bar, Rockingham

Lunch last Thursday afternoon was at Rustico Tapas & Bar, which was near work. I went for the adventurous option of pizza to myself, washed down with an Irish cider. The pizza was a chorizo, prawn and jalapeno, which had plenty of flavour, my only gripe was that the jalapeno was scarce and chopped very finely.

Some of the other dishes, like the ribs and scallops looked good, although a bit exy.
