21 May - Chophouse, Perth

CB and I had dinner at Chophouse. We shared starters, sides for mains and desserts.

The mushroom croquettes and octopus starters were pretty good. Could've done with more octopus though.

For mains, I went for the pork cutlet. It was crusted with hazelnuts and herbs and cooked well. The seasonal greens had garlic butter and crunchy veg, and the duck fat potatoes were OK but nothing to rave about.

Dessert wise, the apple pie creme brulee was just weird. The deconstructed lemon tart was better taste wise but harder to eat.

12 May - Passatempo, Adelaide

This pizza round was the Passatempo pizza instead of the vegetarian. It had some veg but also salami. I think the vegetarian is better...

12 May - KFC, Adelaide

Needed an instant lunch so opted for this. Instant KFC regret after finishing it.

11 May - BBQ City, Adelaide

My staple comfort meal of char siu and siew yuk with rice and a side serve of veg. This meal I did finish as there was no trace of thyme.

11 May - United Latino Cocina, Adelaide

A trio of fish tacos. Yum.

10 May - Hungry Jacks, Adelaide

After not finishing my dinner, I was hungry at midnight. A Whopper meal fixed that. I went slightly healthy by asking for water instead of sugar water.

10 May - Lucia's Fine Foods

For dinner I had another serve of minestrone soup and thought I'd try their mushroom risotto.

The soup was good but I wasn't a fan of the risotto. The risotto had thyme in it which I didn't like and didn't finish it.

10 May - Sushi Train, Adelaide

A light meal as my guts still feel a bit funny.

9 May - Subway, Adelaide Airport

After a delay of 4 hours due to weather and a diversion to Mildura, I needed something quick to pick up for dinner. This was on the way to the hire car.

I ate it a few hours later and it was regular Subway. My guts were still funny after the plane turbulence though and I felt horrible afterwards.

6 May - Hahndorf Inn, Hahndorf

Roasted pork knuckle with salad instead of
sauerkraut. The knuckle was large and salty, I didn't finish off the crackling and I was already feeling dirty. The salad was nicely dressed and the potato dumpling was a bit weird.

5 May - Sean's Kitchen, Adelaide

Chicken Saltimboca was my choice for dinner. It was nice but nothing special. Pints at 12.50 seemed expensive too.

5 May - Fair Espresso, Adelaide

A big breakfast next to the hotel. The haloumi was good, but by the time I got near the end, it was a struggle fitting it all in.

4 May - Lucia's Fine Foods, Adelaide

A cream based gnocchi. Quite nice but heavy. The gnocchi was nice, soft and airy.

4 May - Gauchos, Adelaide

600g wagyu porterhouse with the usual sides. Delicious.

3 May - Lucia's Fine Foods, Adelaide

Dinner tonight was some minestrone soup and beef ravioli. Both were quite good, although a little pricey. Good thing I wasn't paying.

3 May - Chuck Wagon, North Adelaide

The food here was OK, nothing spectacular. The ribs were falling apart but weren't that smokey even though they were advertised as being smoked for 6 hours. The potato skins were messy to eat and ended up on my pants.

2 May - Kingshead Tavern, Adelaide

A South Australian staple, a pie floater. The pie was OK, it was a beef brisket pie which was almost all meat and no gravy. I guess it would mix into the pea soup too much.
