11 Mar - Avenue Nine and then Mille Cafe

Last Sunday we decided to go out for a Sunday lunch, and picked out Avenue Nine as the place to go. We hadn't been there before (Wagg and I went there for 5 minutes on a previous occasion, mistaking it for Mille heheh), and when we got there, the power decided to cut out. Because of the lack of power, there was to be no coffee, and only a few items on the menu, which were cookable by gas, were available. We then decided to blow the joint and go to Mille instead. I hope to go to Avenue Nine again sometime, hopefully third time's the charm.

At Mille, I had the usual Ice Coffee and shared wedges with CB. We ordered the wedges with aioli and sweet chilli. For my main, I decided on the open steak sandwich. To be honest, it was OK .. the steak was a little chewy (can't expect a scotch fillet for the price), the bearnaise sauce didn't really have to be there, and the red onion jam stuff was a little weird (red onion is sweet enough, but to make it into jam??). The lettuce was a little on the bitter side... I should of gone with my first pick which was the chicken sandwich, but I always change my mind at the last minute and then regret it hehehehe...

The middle dish looks like a dark dead squashed frog (frog is facing left in the picture). Hope it tasted better than a dark dead squashed frog!
