29 Nov - Mille Cafe, Inglewood

Last night was dinner at Mille Cafe, for wagg and Ah-Tom's birthday. We arrived before a big function of 50 and put in our drink and food orders.

For entree, I went for the salt and pepper calamari. The squid was tender and soft and went well with the aioli. The salad wasn't too bad, except it had raw bean sprouts, something I'm not a huge fan of.

We put our mains on hold but unfortunately, that message did not reach the kitchen. It was lucky that late dinner guests were only down the road, so the food stayed on the table. I ordered the char-grilled sirloin, after commenting on a previous blog entry that the steak looked good, and a side of vegetables.

The steak was nice and charry, but was a little tough. The steak also wasn't seasoned before cooking, so I had to add a decent amount of salt and pepper. I season my steaks well before cooking and the taste to me is very noticeable. The mash and beans were nice for me, but the saratoga (sweet potato it seems) chips were just OK.

21 Nov - Fitzy's Lakeside, South Lake

Someone from work today had their farewell lunch and the place was Fitzy's Lakeside, a bar not too far from work. I ordered the Supreme Pizza, at $16.50. Whilst it wasn't the best pizza in the world, it still was decent and filling enough for me to be satifised. I do think though that The Gate is a much better place...

I'm a celebrity! Well .. not really

Whilst waiting in front of Tony Romas in the city today, the owner came out and asked me if I was waiting for a table. After explaining that I was waiting for my girlfriend who parked under the Woodside Building, he then said that I looked familiar. He then said he recognised me from my blog and profile picture! hahaha. I'm quite chuffed that someone reads this! :P

16 Nov - McDonalds, North Perth

I have a love/hate relationship with McDonalds. I *love* to go to "Maccas" whilst overseas, to sample the regional menu items (McSpicy or Choco-cone anyone?), and will make sure that I visit at least once whilst on holidays.

But whilst in Australia, I generally don't go for it. Maybe I've been scarred from the time I spent working at one. Anyway, CB and I had supper at the 24 hour McD's at North Perth last night, due to it being the one of the only things open late at night in Perth .. I ordered a McFeast Deluxe regular meal (I should've ordered a Big Mac as it was McHappy Day but it was too late by the time I realised).

Since the McFeast is a HJs/Burger King Whopper without the flame grilled goodness, it was just OK. Whoppers are definitely better, although from the experience earlier this month, not a whole lot better...

14 Nov - Mikazuki Sushi, Cockburn Gateway

Feeling like some deep fried chicken goodness, I went for the karaage at the Japanese place at Cockburn Gateway. The chicken was very gingery and the salad was dressed to the max but it was thoroughly enjoyed.

If only Cockburn Gateway had a proper Chinese place....

9 Nov - Hungry Jacks

This was one of those 'better as an idea' meals. I just felt wrong after eating 2 Whoppers and a regular chips.

7 Nov - Kebab Co, Cockburn Gateway

Today I decided to have the kebab that I've felt like the last few times I've been at Cockburn.

Probably shouldn't have done it...
