21 Aug - 150 East Riverside Bar Restaurant, Ascot

For Julie's birthday, we went to 150 East, located off Great Eastern Highway. This place is attached to a hotel or something and was a little hard to find. But I got there in the end haha.

The coffee was strong, and reasonably priced. It was a little inconsistent though. Other peoples flat whites were cappuccinos.

CB and I shared some wedges to start with. These were chunky and freshly fried, although not as crisp as I would've liked. The aioli had a decent garlic hint.

I had the wild mushroom and duck risotto. It was creamy and had a decent serve of mushrooms and duck. It was served with a red wine reduction and some rocket leaves.

I wasn't going to have dessert, but the specials menu had a pavlova special for $10. A decent meringue, served with blueberries, strawberries and double cream. Mmmmm..

All in all, I thought the food was decent. However, we were seated on an outside veranda kind of arrangement and the rain was seeping through the roof. Luckily, the rain didn't drip on our table, although the water did run close by. Someones chair also broke whilst they were sitting in it too, luckily no injuries there. We did get a fantastic discount when using our entertainment cards though...
