23 Apr - Grill'd, Mount Lawley

For a bite to eat on the way home, CB and I met up at Grill'd at Mt Lawley, where 'Cinos to Go' used to be located. This place supposedly got good reviews in the paper, and recently opened up in Perth. Their advertising slant is that their burgers are supposedly healthier than the competition.

After searching through their website, I found that their most popular burger was the 'Mighty Melbourne' or 'Almighty'. However, looking at the WA menu, it translated to the 'Wild Wild West' burger, ableit $2 more than Victoria's prices. It consists of beef, cheese, bacon, egg, beetroot, salad, herb mayo and tomato relish. So I ordered one of those, CB ordered a 'Bird and Brie' and we shared a serve of chips and herb mayo.

This place isn't exactly fast food, you place your order and sit or stand around. If you dine in, you get a number and they bring the food out to you. It took about 10 mins or so before we got our food. As can be seen in the picture, the burgers to me looked a bit small and not that appetising, but after the first bite, I was really enjoying it. Surprisingly, my plate was not dripping with grease (this burger is quite similar to a 'Cop the Lot' from Fast Eddy's but with less grease), the only thing that was dripping out was the tomato relish. Whilst less greasy, it wasn't dry either. So a thumbs up for their burgers, although a bit expensive ($13.50 just for the burger).

The chips were quite good too, and sprinkled with a herb salt. I could taste rosemary, not sure what else was in there. The herb mayo was good too.

CB's burger was sweet (it had cranberry sauce in it) and not to my tastes. But she seemed satisfied with her option too.
