13 Jan - Antico Cafe

On Saturday night we had dinner at Antico Cafe (they spell it Caffe but I think it's wrong). I couldn't decide what I wanted to try so I asked CB if she wanted to try two dishes and share half each.

The first meal was the chargrilled seafood plate. It consisted of fish, prawns, 1 scallop, a few squid rings and some mussels served on some fries. The squid was a little bland, but everything else was pretty good. The prawns were definitely the best, they had a lot of "char", and so were a little smokey but still wonderfully juicy.

The other dish shared was a chicken dish with a description of "This pair of rolled chicken breast fillets stuffed with breadcrumbs, prawns mushrooms and herbs will truly delight! Served in a cream mushroom and garlic sauce atop our sensational garlic bread." The description certainly did sound lovely. The verdict? It was OK, the chicken with mushroom sauce was nice, the stuffing to me was a little bland ..

As usual, there were some plates couldn't be finished, so I was offered a slice of pizza. I forget the type, but it was pretty good, although a little on the salty side.

Afterwards, we walked around East Perth for a bit, before finally deciding on Monty Fiore for desert. Here I shared a malteaser cheesecake, however I forgot to take a picture. That wasn't too bad, but nothing to rave on about...

Your food did look good that night, but I gotta say I was happy with my spaghetti marinara. Wouldn't have minded the chicken dish, though.
