The morning started off again with a quick bite to eat in the hotel breakfast. I had some toast along with some porridge, this time, with peanuts and pork floss.

After a coffee at Starbucks, we headed to Danshui to have a look around a ‘traditional fishing village’. We walked down Gong Ming street where there was a whole lot of street vendors around the area.
These spring onion pastries were $40 TWD each, and were smothered in a chilli sauce. The filling itself was quite peppery so my mouth was on fire. It had the right amount of crispiness vs doughyness, but didn’t compare to the other pastry we had on tour, because this wasn’t cooked over charcoal.
After walking around a little more, we headed to Maccas for a toilet stop. I ended up topping up with a double cheeseburger meal as I wasn’t fully satisfied with the spring onion pastry from before. The cheeseburger was quite greasy but not bad, although didn’t have enough onions (I never get enough onions). The meal was $115 TWD.
After filling up on the above, it was only then that I came across the stuffed chicken wings again. These were full to the brim (some of the others had busted open). The smaller ones were $60 TWD, whilst bigger ones were $70 TWD. I wasn’t very hungry, but had to have one just to taste. The filling was similar to sticky rice (the type wrapped in banana leaf), and even included a shitake mushroom. It effectively was a sticky rice encased in chicken.
Food Court, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department Store, Taipei, Taiwan
Dinner was at a food court on the basement level of Mitsukoshi Department Store next to the Zhongshan MRT station. I decided to grab a pepper chicken steak dinner, for $150 TWD. It was quite good, the spaghetti I thought would’ve been canned, but it was proper spaghetti with a mince bolognaise (very light on the mince mind you). The veg was probably pre frozen, and the chicken was cooked well. The pepper sauce was quite good too.

I originally wanted another Paris Brest, but they had run out by the time we got there. So I had to get the original puff. It was good, although I would’ve preferred a Paris Brest as it contains more crunchy bits.
