After golf, we had a quick pitstop at the Margaret River Chocolate Factory, just down the road from Mash Brewery / Supa Golf. Upon arrival, I helped myself to several handfuls of the button milk chocolate. Yum, it was good, but melted in my hands!
Before playing 9 holes at Supa Golf, we stopped at Mash Brasserie / Brewery for lunch. I went for the Open MSA Scotch Steak Sandwich, which contains: Balsamic Onions, Capel Cheddar, Rocket, Garlic Aioli, House Made Mild Spicy Tomato Sauce, and Beer Battered Chips taken from their menu.
So last week, I felt like Subway, to find a large queue. This week was a different story. The line was short, so I went for a Subway Melt, on Italian Herb bread, with cheddar cheese.
I used to think that the Classic Roast/Chicken Dinner from Red Rooster/Chicken Treat looked pretty good. I mean, who doesn't like roast chicken, roast potato & pumpkin, peas and gravy? I certainly do. However, when I finally got around to having it, I was quite disappointed. They should've called it "Salty gloop mess", because that's what it was. Salty chicken with salty gravy, with crummy potato, tasteless pumpkin and bland peas.
I placed my order of roast pork and rice, and within 2 or 3 minutes, I had been served. Whilst the place wasn't that busy, and the meat is precooked, I was still impressed. The pork was tender and had good fatty bits, although a little salty. The chilli had quite a good kick.
I was going to have Subway today, but after looking at the lines, I went for Japanese instead. I know I'm unadventurous with my pickings, but what is there not to love about karaage? Deep fried goodness...
I forgot my lunch this morning, so I had to grab something from around work. Not wanting to drive all the way to Cockburn Gateway, it only left Spearwood. Since I had an Ent Book voucher, I decided on "Mickey D's".
Last night was dinner at Mille Cafe, for wagg and Ah-Tom's birthday. We arrived before a big function of 50 and put in our drink and food orders.
We put our mains on hold but unfortunately, that message did not reach the kitchen. It was lucky that late dinner guests were only down the road, so the food stayed on the table. I ordered the char-grilled sirloin, after commenting on a previous blog entry that the steak looked good, and a side of vegetables.
Someone from work today had their farewell lunch and the place was Fitzy's Lakeside, a bar not too far from work. I ordered the Supreme Pizza, at $16.50. Whilst it wasn't the best pizza in the world, it still was decent and filling enough for me to be satifised. I do think though that The Gate is a much better place...
I have a love/hate relationship with McDonalds. I *love* to go to "Maccas" whilst overseas, to sample the regional menu items (McSpicy or Choco-cone anyone?), and will make sure that I visit at least once whilst on holidays.
Feeling like some deep fried chicken goodness, I went for the karaage at the Japanese place at Cockburn Gateway. The chicken was very gingery and the salad was dressed to the max but it was thoroughly enjoyed.
I originally wanted the chicken karaage, but they ran out, so I had to have teriyaki chicken instead. It was OK, but much prefer Fujimore's version, which is sweeter and tastier. The salad was deliciously dressed though.
Their dessert menu was presented on a platter, quite a novel way of choosing what to have. I opted for the tiramisu, which was served with icecream and cream. The tiramisu was nice, although I couldn't taste any coffee and the icecream turned out a little icy.
Overall, I wouldn't mind trying this place again. Their food was good, service was decent and have enough menu choice to have a few meals. Maybe I need to do more training courses...
I've always said that icecream fills the gaps. So after Midland, we went to Morley to check out a few things and had some icecream. Again, the Entertainment Book came out so we got 2 for 1, I chose the Macadamia Dream. I still think other Macadamia Icecreams have been better (from memory, Baskins is on top), but this was still decently nutty.
It's my birthday today! And I had the day off after getting back home from Dragonforce quite late. CB and I eventually made our way to Midland Gate, where we stopped at Fast Eddys for lunch after I said I felt like a burger.
After dinner last night, we headed back to Inglewood for some coffee (and cake for some). I had the usual Iced Coffee. As usual, I had trouble sleeping after drinking coffee at night. I would've liked it sweeter, I don't think the coffee was sweetened at all (apart from the ice cream).
I always wanted to try Tony Romas again after CB and I went there shortly after they opened, so Ants and I celebrated our birthday there this year. Their service was a little patchy before, so I was hoping things would improve this time round. Unfortunately, they were worse than our first time. Plates that weren't cleared, water had to be requested multiple times and wrong items on orders were just some of the issues encountered.
The flavour of the month for awhile now for CB and I has been Cantonese BBQ places. Whenever we are in Morley, we tend to head towards Golden King BBQ Express. Today, we arrived a little too early to sit down and eat, so we grabbed takeaway instead. Today, I felt like embellishing a little, and went for the 3 meat option - char siu, roast duck and roast pork with rice.
