Old Chang Kee & Starbucks, United Square

The morning started off with OCK and Starbucks. I had an espresso frappa, along with porridge, Curry-O and soybean. Mum and Dad joined us for breakfast and CB did her own thing for the morning. After breakfast and a "quick" shop at Cold Storage, we headed to the MRT, where Dad went to Orchard, and the rest (except CB) went to HarbourFront.

Beard Papa, VivoCity

Upon arrival at VivoCity, basement 2 was full of eateries and food stores. One was Beard Papa, where I tried a chocolate puff with vanilla custard filling. I much prefer the normal puff without the chocolate, and the pastry to be not so crisp.

Yong Tau Foo store at Banquet Food Court, VivoCity

For lunch, I went for Yong Tau Foo. I picked 7 pieces, selected rice noodles and received everything in a slightly salty stock. It was pretty good, although the stuffed chilli I had was blazing hot, and so I only ate a little. I would of loved an egg to be cooked through the soup but the way they cook Yong Tau Foo kinda works against it.

After lunch, we proceeded to look at the shops, level by level. On the second level, I stopped for:

Haagendaaz, VivoCity

16112009155

I don't believe I've had Haagendaaz before so I thought I'd give it a try. I chose my favourite icecream flavour of course, macadamia nut. This icecream was very creamy and delicious. The only problem was the $6.70 pricetag.

Dong Dae Mun, VivoCity

16112009156

I thought I'd give this korean store a try, where they sold fried chicken thighs for $3.50. The chicken was chopped and put into a bag, along with a couple of satay sticks for poking. This chicken was quite tasty, the seasoning had a ginger element which was nice.

Afterwards, we headed to Marina Square for more bowling with Mum. She bowled for the first time and even got a strike!

Pariss Intenational Buffet, Marina Square

Since we were in the area, we decided to have Pariss for dinner. I had a total of 16 small plates, and consisted of:

16112009158
Sharks Fin soup. It wasn't bad, but I've had a lot tastier.

16112009159
Smoked salmon, two different types of scallop and grilled fish. The scallops seemed to be overdone.

16112009160
Some lunch dim sum items.

16112009161
Baked scallops. Scallops which are covered in a cheesey sauce.

16112009162
Steak with pepper sauce. Whilst I do enjoy pepper steak, this one was just OK. I much prefer their previous occasions where they serve it with just salt and pepper on the side.

16112009163
Chicken thigh. The chicken dishes are served with a sweet chilli sauce which has a decent kick.

16112009164
Lamb with pepper sauce. This wasn't bad, but nothing to rave about.

16112009165
Salmon with mayonnaise. Prefer it without the mayonnaise.

16112009166
Dory Fillet. The fish was cooked well, but as before, it was drenched in chilli sauce.

16112009167
Another chicken thigh. Mmmmmm.

16112009168
Mutton satay. This did not have the strong mutton taste. This was quite tasty, along with the chicken version...

16112009169

16112009170
Dessert plate 1. Various cakes and a durian puff. This puff wasn't as good as Ang Mo Kio's durian pastry store.

16112009171
Another plate for desserts.

16112009172
Mango and vanilla icecream. Not bad, however the mango icecream was not sweet enough for me.

16112009173
Chicken wings and prawn crackers to get rid of the sweetness from dessert.
