Old Chang Kee, United Square

The morning started off with peanut porridge with a chicken wing and warm soya bean. The peanuts were boiled until soft and were quite tasty.

We then proceeded to head over to Woodlands, and reached there about 10:45AM. By that time, shops were still not open yet, but by 11, most were. Everyone split and reconvened at 12 for lunch.

Food Court @ Woodlands

At the Chicken Rice stall, I grabbed a Chicken Rice set. At $5.50, it included chicken rice, chicken with cucumber and tomato, bok choy and broth. The sambal chilli that I grabbed from their counter was a little sweet and not hot enough, but it did the job.

LWA and I hit the Timezone on the top floor after lunch, while the others had more of a shop. By 1:30PM we went to get Swensens, but the line was a little long. After using up all our Timezone credit, the line was non-existant.

After having the Durian Surprise the other day, I thought I'd try the Cendol Delight. The syrup that the sundae was served with was very sweet and made the sundae very watery. It was OK in all, but I wouldn't have it again.

McDonalds, Woodlands

On this trip so far, we've had Maccas a few times now. Currently, there has been a Monopoly promotion, where instant food prizes are also possible. This afternoon, I redeemed both 6 McNuggets and a Small Fries winning token. These were to get the sickly sweet taste out of my mouth after the sundae. Notice how there are no fries in the above pic? That was because I was trying to get the fries out of the bag they came in, asking CB for help, but she accidentally knocked the fries out of my hand. Fail.

Bishan Junction 8 was next on the agenda, where we spent just over an hour covering all the floors. After a quick pitstop at the hotel to drop off shopping and a quick break, we then headed for dinner.

Crystal Jade, Suntec City

Feeling like something a bit more upmarket than a food court, everyone except CB headed to Suntec City to Crystal Jade restaurant. We were seated immediately and after perusing the menu, opted to order the following dishes with rice:

Roast Pork (Siew Yuk). The menu said "signature dish", but I didn't think this was unique in any way compared to other roast pork I've had.

18112009186
Tofu and vegetables. Quite tasty, the sauce was quite drinkable.

18112009187
Snake Beans with mince. These were delicious. A slight hint of wok hei and a little chilli made this very enjoyable.

18112009188
Claypot Chicken - This was spiced with ginger and contained bone-in chicken bits. It wasn't bad but to me, it wasn't something to rave about.

18112009189
Peking Duck. Slithers of duck skin, wrapped up with hoisin sauce, cucumber and spring onion. These were quite tasty and were demolished quite quickly. I ended up having 3.

18112009190
Hor Fun (wet). These noodles had the most wok hei that I've had on this trip. Toppings were a bit sparse

18112009191
The leftover duck meat, stirfried in lemongrass, ginger and spring onion with black bean sauce.

18112009192
Rockmelon sago. Sago in what seems to be rockmelon puree. Whilst tasty, I could've done with more sago, but can't be too choosy.

After dinner, we strolled back towards Raffles City where we went a bit of time in 'That CD Shop'. By the time we were finished there, J.CO had already shut and their displays were empty. We then headed back to the MRT station and headed to the hotel.

J.CO Donuts, Tampines

CB grabbed some J.CO in Tampines when she met up with a friend. Not being able to grab one tonight, I was keen on eating the Glazy donuts. I chomped down on 3 glazys whilst CB ate the flavoured ones on the right.
