Ya Kun Kaya Toast - United Square

The day started off with breakfast with Mum and Dad, bar CB. I ordered a kaya toast set, and traded my eggs for more toast with Arnee-ah. The toast for me was way too sweet, and the coffee was bitter haha.

After breakfast, we walked around United Square and Toa Payoh for awhile and eventually stopped at Koufu in Toa Payoh. I had a rockmelon juice which was a little watery.

After, we met up with Chee Kiong and his two girls, and took the bus towards East Coast. We then walked about 20 minutes or so to the McDonalds at East Coast.

I normally have a McSpicy meal with McWings as an extra, but CB saw they had a Mega McSpicy as a promotion item. This was a normal McSpicy but with two patties. Good idea, but not on execution. It was too big to get my mouth around. I ended up eventually taking out the patty and eating it at the end by itself. Mmmmmm.

I also went for a Choco Cone but they did not have any. Fail.

We then rode for 3 hours, going behind the airport, watching the planes take off and land. Afterwards, we headed back to Maccas for a cold drink, I had an Iced Milo.

On the way back from East Coast, we stopped by this older style Hawker Centre. Here I had a lime juice, along with char siu rice and char kway teow.

The char siu rice was cheap ($2) but also quite tasty. I didn't feel that hungry but wolfed it down once I started eating. It certainly hit the spot.

I wasn't planning on eating char kway teow, but Wagg said there was pork fat in it. Wanting to try a version with pork fat, I went for the smallest plate ($3). The others had a $5 plate and had prawn whilst the budget version didn't. I thought I didn't get any but right at the end, I found a few little bits of crispy pork lard. Mmmm, it definitely made a difference.
