Old Chang Kee & Starbucks, United Square

Breakfast this morning was at United Square. From Old Chang Kee, I had a Curry-O and Sotong Wings on a stick. The warm soy bean was complimentary due to a promotion where any purchase over $2 received the soy bean free. At Starbucks, I had an espresso frappa.

The Old Chang Kee goodies were wolfed down and enjoyed, and the frappa wasn't too bad either. The price however, was not good haha...

After breakfast, we headed to Raffles City and browsed. On the basement level, we came across J. Co.

J.Co Donuts, Raffles City

This was a quick snack between breakfast and lunch. I went for 2 glazy donuts. After stuffing one completely in my mouth, I ate the second one slowly and enjoyed the texture and flavour. After the first donut, I think I can only "fluffy bunny" 1.5 donuts before I have difficulty.

Afterwards, we headed down Citylink mall, and through to HMV where I bought a music CD and PS3 game. We eventually made it to Marina Square and went for lunch.

Food court (level 3), Marina Square

Not sure what I felt like, I walked around and found myself amongst a busy roast meat stall. I ordered wonton noodles ($5) and dumpling (wonton) soup ($4). These noodles were quite good, the char siu was a little sweet. The wontons were not as good as home versions but were quite big for hawker varieties. I got big chunks of kai lan, which I suspected to be tough but were soft, probably due to steeping in the soup for a long time.

After lunch, we shopped around Marina Square and Suntec City. I bought some "buns" and a rubber chicken, which has amused me ever since. We also went bowling with our cousin Chee Kiong and his family. I didn't bowl that well but found my stride and bowled a turkey in the second game. After two games, we headed to Yuki Yaki, which is in the same complex.

Last time we were here, we were given three tables. However this time round, the staff insisted that we have two. I was a bit annoyed at the decision, as the place was dead (and was still not that full by the time we left).

I had a couple of plates of onion rings, samosas and mushroom balls. I must say that the samosas were the tastiest, but they weren't that great. They did fill the gap whilst waiting for meat to cook.

Various marinated pork. One is char siu, the other I'm not sure of. These were waiting to hit the grill.

Shiitake and Oyster mushrooms, along with pork belly rashers and beef. Neither beef or pork were that tasty (need atleast salt and pepper to make it somewhat interesting.)

Two kinds of chicken, can't remember what they were. They weren't that tasty, probably because by this stage I was already quite full.

After dinner, we went for a long walk, down along the Singapore River to Clarke Quay. The weather was pretty balmy and it wasn't too hot. Feeling like icecream, we headed back to Toa Payoh.

Swensens, Toa Payoh

At Swensons, I had a 'Durian Supreme' which had durian icecream, 8 attap seeds and cream on top. The icecream was very good... very creamy and may of even had real durian in it. Will definitely have this again but would like to try the cendol sundae too!
